That last lecture deals with a recent proposal by Susskind and his fellow string-theory pioneer  Juan Maldacena (discoverer of the Ads/cft correspondence) of a relationship between quantum entanglement and wormholes. This hypothesis provides a possible explanation for the “AMPS” black hole firewall paradox.
